In a recent article, Best High Schools in America, in Newsweek Magazine, Las Lomas High School is ranked in the top 1000 public high schools in the United States at number 728. This is quite an honor. WCEF K-12 is committed to partnering with campus-wide organizations to help LLHS maintain this tradition of excellence by funding vital academic and enrichment programs and student services. All students in grades 9-12 benefit from the following programs funded by WCEF K-12.
Crisis Counseling
Crisis Counselors see 200 - 250 individual students each year to assist them with a variety of counseling needs. In addition, they work with groups of students to help them quit smoking, overcome eating disorder, and other common problems among high school students.
Instructional Materials
Because the instructional materials budget from the district has been reduced over the past few years from $80 to $30 per student, WCEF K-12 will be supplementing this budget. These materials include items such as copy paper, pens, and markers among other materials required for classroom instruction.
Technology
To make certain that curriculum can be delivered uniformly in every classroom, funding is provided for technology upgrades and new equipment as well as to ensure that the same basic equipment exists in all classrooms.
Science Supplies
Funds are used to purchase consumable supplies and replenish science kits.
Computer Lab Assistant
Teacher Grants
WCEF K-12 provides funds to teachers for one-time purchases through their departments. Priority programs are presented to the Foundation for funding consideration.
The following campus-wide organizations combined their fundraising efforts with the Las Lomas Foundation in 2003 and will continue to derive benefit from WCEF K-12 donors who give at the White Level ($400) and above. Your donation of this amount helps these groups maintain membership and provides you with benefits at LLHS.
